Children Are Special
It seemed like a logical decision at the time. After all, their teacher was a busy man. He was involved in important business, and he was always being stopped and questioned by the influential leaders of their society. In fact, they secretly hoped that when their teacher was in charge, they would have special positions of authority. So why should they let these parents bring their children to distract Jesus from what truly mattered? It was at this moment that Jesus’ disciples learned a valuable lesson.
Parents were bringing their children to Jesus, and the disciples were trying to keep the children away. Listen to how Jesus responded: “The kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” (Luke 18:16). Jesus also taught that when we receive children in His name, it is as if we are receiving Him (Matthew 18:5). Jesus made it clear that children are special to God, and as we do our best to follow Him, children are special to us as well.
We have listed some of our children’s events and programs at Crittenden Drive on our website, and we would love for you and your family to participate. Finding a church home where your children can attend Bible class and make good friends is important to many people, and we would like to be that kind of church home for you. If you have any questions, please call Andy or Daniel at the church office, or send us an e-mail. Please let us know how we can serve your family!
